Description
The project consists in a light art installation for the heliostat. The heliostat – a device following the sun’s route in order to orientate sunrays in daytime in the direction of a small static surface covered with mirrors – is lit merely with LED dots positioned directly on its surface. These video-driven LED dots restitute water substance animations captured on Sydney’s bay.
The light art installation on the heliostat is visible from the park, from the city and neighbouring buildings as well. At night, it becomes a signal in the urban skyline that allegorically retransmits the sun’s variations on the water surface.
